Located in the Black Forest region, Grube Hella-Glück features a network of tunnels extending over 2,000 meters with a maximum depth of 240 meters.
Mining operations at this site began around 1250 when the demand for azurite as a blue pigment led to the establishment of a mining settlement.
The traditional German miners' greeting 'Glück auf' originated in mining communities, expressing hope for safety and success in finding ore deposits.
Guided tours through the mine operate every Sunday from 11:00, with the last tour starting at 15:00, except during Advent Sundays and winter holidays.
The mine contains geological formations of sandstone and shell limestone, featuring deposits of quartz, baryte, and various mineral ores.
