Inner Park Ring Walk, Urban hiking trail in Berlin, Germany
The Inner Park Ring Walk is an urban hiking trail that loops around central Berlin, connecting large parks with smaller green spaces across approximately 52 kilometers. The route winds through various neighborhoods and combines well-known parks with quieter green corridors that link them together.
The trail was created as part of Berlin's initiative to better connect green areas within the city. An important section passes through the former Tempelhof Airport grounds, which became public recreational space after the airport closed in 2008.
The trail passes through neighborhoods with distinct personalities and reveals how green spaces shape daily life in Berlin's residential areas. Each district along the route shows different ways people use and enjoy their local parks and outdoor spaces.
Walking the complete circuit takes about 12 hours, though you can easily break it into shorter segments since access points are located throughout. Public transport stations near the trail make it simple to join or exit the route whenever you need.
This is the longest continuous urban hiking path in Berlin and forms part of a broader network of green walks. Many visitors are surprised to discover how much of the circuit can be walked through green corridors with minimal street crossings.
