Otto Hoesch, from the industrial Hoesch family of Düren, commissioned architect Paul Darius to design this weekend residence in the early 20th century.
The residence gained recognition in the 1970s when Jean Löring, a former footballer and entrepreneur, acquired it and transformed it into a venue for events.
The property underwent extensive renovations and restoration work after its auction in 2003, when it was valued at 2.7 million euros.
The building maintains a permanent residential right, which was separately capitalized at 383,000 euros during the 2003 auction proceedings.
