Haus Kickley

Haus Kickley is a residential building in Nideggen featuring spacious interior living areas and set within expansive parkland. The structure was built in the early 20th century as a weekend retreat and blends traditional architecture with a large surrounding garden and grounds.

Otto Hoesch from the industrial Hoesch family of Düren commissioned architect Paul Darius to design this weekend house in the early 20th century. The building later changed hands and underwent major restoration after being auctioned in 2003.

The residence became known in the 1970s when Jean Löring, a former footballer and entrepreneur, purchased it and began hosting events there. The place carries the marks of this period in how its spaces are arranged and used.

The grounds can be viewed from outside and the park offers pleasant walking paths. Keep in mind this is private property and access to the interior may be limited depending on current use.

The property carries a permanent residential right that was valued separately during the auction, showing how complex the legal structure of such historic properties can be. This type of shared ownership arrangement is quite rare in Germany and makes the building legally unusual.
