Schloss Wildprechtroda, Renaissance château in Bad Salzungen, Germany.
The château consists of three buildings arranged around a central courtyard, with remnants of the original water moat surrounding the structure.
In 1432, the Lords of Buttlar received ownership of the district and transformed an existing water castle into their residence.
The structure represents the influence of Italian Renaissance architecture on German noble residences during the sixteenth century construction period.
While the château remains a private residence, its main hall can be reserved for special events and private functions.
During East Germany's era, the castle housed 27 refugee families from German eastern territories due to housing shortages.
