Schloss Stamsried

Schloss Stamsried is a castle in Bavaria organized in four wings with a tower and granite stone throughout its design. The walmed roofing creates a distinctive silhouette that makes the structure recognizable from various angles.

The fortress was founded in 1354 when Dietrich der Kürner received permission from Palatine Count Ruprecht II to build it. The building later transformed from a defensive structure into a residential castle, showing how its purpose evolved.

Workers discovered a spring beneath the castle in 1996 that is dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, marked by a statue near the entrance. This hidden water source reveals how springs and religious devotion became intertwined with the site's story.
