Sparkassen-Arena, Jena, Indoor sports venue in Burgau, Jena, Germany

Sparkassen-Arena is an indoor sports hall in the Burgau district of Jena, Germany, built to host basketball, handball, judo, and similar events. It seats around 3,000 spectators and has a large LED screen hanging above the playing area at the center of the hall.

The topping-out ceremony took place in August 2013, and the arena was inaugurated on 5 January 2014 with the Thuringia derby between Science City Jena and the Oettinger Rockets Gotha, which Jena won 90:74. The building cost seven million euros and offers 2,600 m² of usable space.

The arena is the home court of Science City Jena, the city's basketball club in the Basketball Bundesliga. Its name comes from Sparkasse Jena-Saale-Holzland, the local savings bank that holds the naming rights. Beyond league games, the hall regularly stages concerts, stand-up comedy, congresses, trade fairs and parties such as New Year's Eve celebrations and an Oktoberfest.

The hall stands in the southern Burgau district of Jena. It has 2,600 m² of usable floor space and seats 3,000 spectators, so arriving early helps at well-attended events. The building opened on 5 January 2014 and cost seven million euros.

In 2021, the hall hosted the PDC World Cup of Darts, a top-level darts event that brought teams from across the world to Jena. The fact that a darts tournament of this size took place here shows how the hall can be adapted for very different kinds of sport.
