The Sparkassen-Arena spans 2,600 square meters and features a 32-square-meter LED video cube suspended from the central ceiling position.
The construction of this sports facility began in August 2013 and required an investment of 7 million euros before opening in January 2014.
The arena functions as the primary venue for the Medipolis SC Jena basketball team and hosts multiple sports competitions including handball and judo events.
The facility maintains a total seating capacity of 3,076 people and includes restaurant services at the adjacent Schlossberg establishment.
During 2021, the Sparkassen-Arena served as the competition ground for the PDC World Cup of Darts, where Scotland secured their tournament victory.
