Burg Bodenteich

Burg Bodenteich is a fortified stronghold featuring a robust defensive tower surrounded by a water-filled moat and entered via a drawbridge. The structure has shaped the landscape character of this region in Lower Saxony for roughly 8 centuries.

The Lords of Bodendike built the fortress around 1250 to serve as a strategic defensive center for their lands. The site remained a seat of power for successive ruling families throughout the centuries.
