Kloster Liebfrauenberg, Monastery in Bad Bergzabern, Germany.
Kloster Liebfrauenberg is a monastery complex in Bad Bergzabern at about 300 meters elevation, featuring residential buildings with mansard roofs and a chapel with an onion dome. The grounds include agricultural areas and now house a retirement facility for elderly residents.
The site originated in 1899 when the Frauenbergerhof farm was converted into a monastery and the Brothers and Sisters of Saint Paul established their religious community. The transformed farm complex became a center for monastic life in the region.
The chapel features a five-bay nave with bell towers, surrounded by loggias at the octagonal choir section. Visitors can experience how this religious space shapes the rhythm of community life here.
The former monastery complex now serves as a retirement home run by the Saint Paul's Foundation and can be viewed from the outside. Access to interior areas is limited, but the complex with its distinctive towers and buildings is visible from the grounds.
Two round towers mark the corners of the complex and shape its appearance from a distance. In the southwestern section stands a modern residential block for elderly care, showing how historic places adapt to new needs.
