Wasserturm Rottweil

Wasserturm Rottweil is a 50-meter-tall concrete structure with a chalice-shaped storage tank that held 750 cubic meters of water. The building consists of a massive concrete column topped with the distinctive tank structure and crowned by a red and white striped antenna mast.

The building was constructed in 1974 and served the local population as a water storage and distribution center for over 40 years. In 2015 it was taken out of service as the city modernized its infrastructure.

The tower has shaped Rottweil's skyline for decades with its distinctive concrete form. It serves as a recognizable landmark that makes the city's industrial past visible to visitors.

The interior is not open to the public today as it functions as a private office building. The exterior can be viewed and photographed from the street, providing a good overview of the concrete architecture.

After its decommissioning as a water tank, the structure was creatively repurposed in 2020 and now houses an IT company in its spaces. This conversion shows how historical infrastructure can be given new purpose in modern cities.
