Christoph 70, Rescue helicopter facility in Fulda, Germany
Christoph 70 is a helicopter station for aerial rescue in Fulda that provides emergency doctors, rescue specialists, and pilots. The facility maintains a crew of roughly 26 people who are constantly available for emergency missions across the region.
The air rescue station began operations in 1984 and initially served areas along the inner-German border. The service was later expanded and today covers a much larger operational area.
The helicopter station collaborates with Fulda Clinic and German Red Cross to provide integrated emergency medical care services throughout the region.
The service area covers the region around Fulda with fast access to various locations. The helicopters are ready for deployment in good weather, but operations can be limited during poor conditions.
In 2014 the station received a more modern EC 135 P2 helicopter to significantly improve rescue capability. The newer aircraft enabled faster and more efficient operations compared to the previous model.
