The Verkehrsmuseum spans four floors, presenting over 200 exhibits that illustrate the progression of transportation methods from early bicycles to modern vehicles.
Founded in 1969 in a former electrical equipment factory, the museum celebrates Karl Drais and Karl Benz, who invented the first bicycle in 1817 and automobile in 1885.
The museum exhibits include the ceremonial Mercedes of former Mayor Günther Klotz and a type 280S historic limousine, representing local automotive heritage.
Located at Werderstraße 63, the museum opens every Sunday from 10:00 to 13:00 and features wheelchair accessibility throughout the main exhibition areas.
The third floor houses one of Germany's largest model railways, spanning 80 square meters with 25 trains operating during opening hours.
