The Kunst- und Kulturzentrum occupies a 150-year-old building on Austrasse, at the border of Monschau's old town district with exhibition spaces and studios.
Following a decision by the Kreistag in October 2001, the cultural center opened its doors in 2002 to provide artistic programs for the Aachen region.
The center presents four to six photography exhibitions yearly, featuring works from international photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson and Anton Corbijn.
The center operates Tuesday through Friday from 2 PM to 5 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM, with annual closure mid-December to January.
Since 2020, the center grants funding to photographers who create projects specifically connected to the Monschau region, leading to dedicated exhibitions.
