Adelheidisstift, Former monastery in Vilich, Germany
The St. Adelheidis-Stift complex consists of multiple buildings with religious architecture, located at Adelheidisstrasse 10 in the Beuel district of Bonn.
King Otto III elevated the monastery's status in 987, making it one of only four imperial monasteries alongside Quedlinburg, Essen, and Gandersheim.
The institution transformed from a private women's convent to a Benedictine monastery under Adelaide's leadership, receiving papal confirmation in 996.
The former monastery now operates as a retirement home offering various care services including day care, short-term care, and permanent residential care.
The monastery's territorial influence extended across regions from Solingen to Düsseldorf, including control over the church area of Niederdollendorf.
