Villa Maffei, Architectural heritage monument in Feldafing, Germany.
Villa Maffei is a two-wing building with asymmetrical proportions located at Seestraße 4 in Feldafing. The structure features a rounded tower, corner bay windows, and extended balconies that open toward the lakeside landscape.
Architect Emanuel von Seidl designed and built the villa in 1901 for industrialist Hugo von Maffei. The construction replaced an earlier 19th-century country house that had belonged to the Maffei family.
The villa has served as a venue for art exhibitions and cultural events organized by a resident foundation for many decades. Visitors could experience contemporary works and historical collections that shaped cultural life in the region.
The property sits within an expansive private garden with defined boundaries that visitors cannot freely enter. It is advisable to inquire in advance about access conditions or any visiting possibilities.
During the Nazi period, the building was called Adolf-Wagner-Haus and served different functions. After World War II, it was acquired by the Free State of Bavaria in 1951 and redirected to its current use.
