Speyrer Kirche

Speyrer Church is a Gothic building in Ditzingen featuring pointed arch windows with tracery typical of the style. The rectangular nave has a beam ceiling, while a four-story choir tower rises prominently above the structure.

The building was constructed in the late 8th century as a proprietary church for a Frankish lord. It was later incorporated into the Dominican monastery of Pforzheim in 1347.

The church was originally dedicated to Saint Lambert, but later became associated with Saint Margaret. Today it hosts musical performances that give the place a contemporary cultural role in the community.

The church is located within Ditzingen's cemetery grounds and currently serves as a funeral chapel for memorial services. Visitors should approach respectfully, as it remains an active venue for local commemorative ceremonies.

The four-story choir tower holds an unsigned bell from the 15th century, a relic that speaks to the building's long past. In 2005, a small four-voice organ was added, creating an interesting contrast between medieval and contemporary elements.
