Wilhelmsburger Inselpark

Wilhelmsburger Inselpark is a large green area featuring gardens, ponds, and mature trees throughout its landscape. The space includes dedicated zones for sports, recreation, and leisure with open meadows and designed garden sections.

The park was created following an international garden show in 2013 and developed from land that was previously used for farming and allotments. This transformation turned unused or underused spaces into a recreational destination for residents.

The park serves as a gathering place where neighbors spend time together and build community connections through shared activities. The different zones from gardens to sports areas are used by residents of all ages, making it a social hub for the district.

You can access sports facilities free of charge, use areas for picnicking and grilling, and enjoy various play zones. Many paths are lit, which allows comfortable visits at dusk.

A notable feature is a canal specifically designed for paddling and canoeing that runs through the grounds. The site also includes a high ropes course and specialized sports facilities like skateboard areas and water-based soccer fields.
