Hohenbogen-Kaserne, Former military barracks in Bad Kötzting, Germany
Hohenbogen-Kaserne is a former military complex featuring two communication towers and several buildings that once housed Air Force operations and personnel. The main tower stands at about 75 meters tall and dominates the site's skyline.
Built in 1965, the complex served as a communication center for the Air Force regiment until its closure in 2004. It was later transformed into a youth, sports, and conference facility.
The site served as a key communication hub during Cold War times, monitoring activities in this border region. The towers and structures now stand as reminders of that period in German history.
The site now functions as a public facility with spaces for youth programs, sports, and events. Visitors can explore the grounds and access an observation deck on the main tower via an external steel staircase.
An external steel staircase on the main tower leads to an observation platform at about 50 meters high. From there, visitors get sweeping views across the surrounding landscape and the border region.
