The Municipal Theatre of Rendsburg is an early 20th-century theatre building featuring a grand facade and ornately decorated interior spaces. The structure combines historical architectural details with modern stage technology for contemporary performances.

Plans for a theatre began around 1890, funded with 150,000 gold marks from the surplus of the Stadt Sparkasse Rendsburg. The foundation stone was laid in November 1900 and the building, designed by Albert Winkler, opened in November 1901. Its first director was the private theatre entrepreneur Leopold Friedrich Weiß, followed by Hans Polte.

The building houses the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater and presents diverse performances including drama, musicals, and opera throughout the year. It serves as a major cultural hub for the region, drawing audiences from across the surrounding area.

The theatre stands at Hans-Heinrich-Beisenkötter-Platz 1, a short walk from Rendsburg station, with several regional bus lines terminating directly in front of the main portal; the central bus station lies just east of this stop. The building is a protected monument (no. 3633).

The white building is listed as monument no. 3633. In front of the main portal stands the "Rendsburger Eva", a sculpture made by Fritz Fleer in 1982; it replaced Adolf Brütt's 1889 group "Eva und ihre Kinder", which was moved to the park of Schloss Gottorf in Schleswig.
