St. Marien und Laurentin, Gothic church in Lauenstein, Germany.
The church features a three-story stone altar, ornate pulpit, and baptismal font made from regional sandstone by skilled craftsmen of Pirna.
The original structure from 1340 underwent reconstruction between 1596 and 1602 following a devastating fire that affected the city in 1594.
The interior contains sandstone works by sculptors Michael Schwenke and Lorentz Hörnig, including family epitaphs of the von Bünau nobility.
Guided tours occur on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 2:00 PM, with admission fees of 3 euros for adults and 1 euro for children.
The Jehmlich organ, rebuilt in 2005 after a fire in 2003, combines elements from the original 1815 design with modern musical requirements.
