Zoo der Minis

Zoo der Minis is a zoological facility in Aue that houses more than 400 small animals from around 70 species, including dwarf breeds and rare wild animals. The enclosures are designed to be naturalistic, allowing the animals to live in environments that resemble their natural habitats.

The facility was established along the historic Silver Road, a significant trade route through the Ore Mountains during the medieval mining period. This location ties the place to the region's economic history.

The exhibit signage reflects the local dialect of the Ore Mountains region, connecting visitors to the linguistic identity of Saxony. Walking through the grounds, you experience how language and nature intertwine in this place.

The facility operates daily with seasonal opening hours, closing earlier during winter months. When visiting, keep in mind that only cash is accepted at the entrance.

This is the only zoological facility worldwide that specializes exclusively in miniaturized and dwarf animal species. This focus on small animals makes it a rare collection among zoos globally.
