Zoo der Minis, Miniature animal zoo in Aue, Germany

Zoo der Minis is a zoo in Aue-Bad Schlema, in the Ore Mountains, that keeps only very small animal breeds and rare miniature wild forms. Its paths run along a slope and are marked by wooden or stone animal figures. The grounds hold more than 400 animals, plus a playground and a petting and crawling zoo for children.

A teacher opened the animal park in 1960; in 1991, after German reunification made municipal funding a concern, the newly appointed director Bärbel Schroller turned it into a zoo for the smallest breeds, which need less space and feed. The town of Aue backed the plan and founded an association that has run the site since. Mini pigs came first, followed by mini deer and mini caracals.

Since the early 2000s the supporting association and the town of Aue have held a Tierparkfest on the last Sunday in May each year. The paths run along a slope and their signposts are decorated with wooden or stone animal figures. Since late 2017 the zoo has issued an annual photo calendar, sold online, at the ticket desk and in the Schwarzenberg bookshop Bücherwelt.

The annual animal park festival takes place on the last Sunday in May.

In July 2017 the zoo took in a least weasel named Merle from a Bremen wildlife rescue centre, 12 cm long without the tail and weighing 60 grams; it was the only one of its kind kept in a German zoo. In autumn 2020 a newly built enclosure, meant for five rock hyraxes that vanished before collection, instead received a pair of Prevost's squirrels (Rafflesi subspecies), rodents held in only six German zoos.
