Stolzenmühle, Historic hermitage in Prichsenstadt, Germany.
The Stolzenmühle is a former water mill located near the confluence of the Main and Schwarzach rivers in Unterfranken. The site sits at about 232 meters elevation and was converted to agricultural land after milling operations stopped in 1994.
The structure was first recorded in 1577 with a miller named Wielant and passed to the Glos family in the mid-18th century. That family has maintained ownership through eight generations since then.
The building shows features of Franconian architecture from the early 18th century, with elements typical of water mills in this region. Visitors can still see the characteristic structures that reflect the working life of that era.
The site is accessible from Brünnau via county road KT 40 and sits in a rural area with farmland surrounding it on all sides. Visitors should note this is a private property and access may be limited.
Four large silos were added during renovations in the 1960s, marking the shift from traditional milling to modern farming at this location. These structures remain visible today and reflect how rural practices changed over time.
