Martinskapelle, Romanesque chapel in Plossen district, Meissen, Germany
The Martinskapelle stands on a hill at the convergence of Triebisch and Elbe rivers, featuring rough stone construction and a semicircular apse.
The chapel underwent extensive restoration in 1437 following damage from the Hussite Wars, followed by interior renovations in 1683 including new ceilings and galleries.
The chapel contains a notable wing altar from 1500 and a pulpit from 1516, displaying religious artistry from medieval Saxony.
The church maintains its function as a burial chapel and religious site, with access available through a pointed portal on the northern side.
Original Romanesque windows remain preserved on the north wall, while a two-arch arcade discovered in 1981 suggests the presence of a former west tower.
