Castle Vagen, Castle in Vagen, Germany
Castle Vagen is a three-wing structure in Feldkirchen-Westerham with projecting round towers and gabled roofs defining its outline. The three-story plastered buildings are accompanied by a freestanding chapel featuring an onion-domed bell tower, all located at Goldbachstraße 5.
A merchant named Anton Vogt built a country house called Vogtenruhe here in 1768. Count Heinrich von Boos-Waldeck later transformed it into a castle through major renovations in 1872.
The castle's name comes from the Vagen, a small stream in the area, and its chapel with an onion-domed bell tower forms a striking part of the ensemble. Visitors can see how water from the Goldbach stream feeds cascades through the gardens, creating a flowing landscape around the buildings.
The property is privately owned and closed to public entry, so please observe all posted signs and respect the boundaries. The best views of the façade and chapel can be seen from the street at a respectful distance.
From 2005 to 2022, the castle served as a filming location for the German TV series Sturm der Liebe, making it recognizable to fans of the show. This television role brought attention to the property and draws visitors interested in seeing actual filming sites.
