Spandauer-See-Brücke, Road bridge in Hakenfelde, Germany.
The Spandauer-See-Brücke is a steel bridge connecting two Berlin districts across the water, allowing cars and pedestrians to cross. It spans an important waterway and provides a direct route between the two neighborhoods on either side.
Construction of the bridge began in 1995 following a design competition and opened to traffic in late 1997. The project was created to improve the connection between the two districts.
The bridge forms an essential connection point for the residential water town Oberhavel, creating a meeting place for community activities along the waterfront.
The bridge is accessible to cars and pedestrians at any time of day, offering a direct crossing over the water. Traffic flows in both directions and the infrastructure is designed for regular daily use.
The construction project required an investment of 36 million Deutsche Marks and was engineered by Leonhardt, Andrä and Partner.
