Fahrzeugmuseum Staßfurt

Fahrzeugmuseum Stassfurt is an automobile museum in Saxony-Anhalt displaying over three hundred vehicles ranging from children's scooters to motorcycles, bicycles, and cars from various periods. The collection documents the diversity of transportation and shows different mechanical solutions and construction methods across these vehicles.

The museum opened on January 1, 2009, adding an automotive collection to the cultural offerings of the Saxony-Anhalt region. Its founding reflects a growing interest in documenting and preserving vehicle technology from the East German past.

The collection features vehicles that were part of everyday life in East Germany, including Trabants with rooftop tents and police Ladas. These cars tell the story of how people in this region moved around and what transportation meant to them.

The museum welcomes visitors from Easter through November, open Friday to Sunday between 11 AM and 5 PM. Plan your visit with these seasonal hours in mind, as the museum operates only on weekends and closes during winter months.

The collection includes emergency doctor Wartburg 353 W vehicles and numerous self-built automobiles made from MZ and SIMSON components. These machines show the resourcefulness and mechanical creativity of people working with limited materials.
