Bäkepark, Public park in Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Germany.
Bäkepark is a 3.5 hectare (8.5 acre) green space along the Teltow Canal with walking paths and outdoor areas for recreation. The park features three separate playgrounds for children and open lawns for sitting and relaxing.
The park was created in the early 20th century and named after the Bäke stream, which flows into the Elbe river system. This waterway continues to shape the landscape character of the site.
During the annual Steglitz Festival, the park hosts community gatherings with live performances and entertainment for all ages. The open green spaces naturally draw neighbors together for spontaneous meetings and serve as a venue for local events.
The park is accessible by U9 subway and bus 283, making it easy to reach from different parts of the city. Pathways are well maintained and open throughout the day, suitable for visits at any time.
Several mature trees including yews, field elms, maples, hornbeams, and plane trees are protected as natural monuments. These distinctive specimens give the park character and provide shaded spots for visitors to rest.
