Thermen & Badewelt Sinsheim, Thermal bath and water park in Sinsheim, Germany
Thermen & Badewelt Sinsheim is a thermal bath complex in Sinsheim, Baden-Württemberg, with three sections: the Palmenparadies, the Vitaltherme & Sauna, and a Sportbad. The Palmenparadies has a 2,200 m² textile area under a glass roof with a movable 2,360 m² section reaching 18 m high, containing a 34 °C lagoon and around 400 real South Sea palms.
Josef Wund built the thermal bath, with the foundation stone laid on 9 November 2011 and the opening on 19 December 2012; the saunas were finished in spring 2013. In September 2015 the Vitaltherme hosted the Aufguss World Championship, with 69 professional pourers from 15 countries competing. Since 2026 the bath has belonged to the Therme Group.
The sauna landscape holds 13 saunas and a steam bath, among them the Koi-Sauna, rated the world's largest at 166.10 m² for up to 150 people. In September 2015 the Vitaltherme hosted the Aufguss World Championship, with 69 professional pourers from 15 countries competing in individual and team events. Since 2021 a sauna boat, the Freya, has operated on the lake.
The complex opens in the morning on weekdays and slightly earlier on weekends, with closing times varying in the evening. Some sauna areas are adults-only, while other zones are also open to families with children.
The Koi-Sauna, measuring 166.10 m² and holding up to 150 bathers, was entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest sauna in the world. The sauna boat Freya, 12 metres long and about 12 tonnes, opened in 2021 on the natural lake and is described by the operator as the world's first self-driving sauna boat.
