Technikmuseum Sinsheim, Technology and automobile museum in Sinsheim, Germany.
Technikmuseum Sinsheim is a large exhibition space housing hundreds of classic cars, motorcycles, aircraft, and locomotives spread across multiple halls and outdoor areas. Alongside vehicles, the museum displays military equipment and industrial machinery that show how technology evolved over time.
Founder Eberhard Layher started with a small collection in 1981 that grew into one of Germany's largest technology museums. Through purchases and donations from private collectors, the museum expanded continuously and attracted growing visitor numbers.
The collection shows how craftsmanship and engineering shaped what people drove and used across generations in Germany. The place tells a story of ambition and technical skill that becomes visible in the vehicles and machines on display.
The museum sprawls across a large area and requires good walking shoes and time to explore, as visitors walk long distances between halls. An IMAX cinema and hotel are located on-site, making it possible to spend a full day or longer here.
Two supersonic aircraft, the Concorde and the Tupolev Tu-144, are displayed outdoors at an angle and can be examined from close distance. These two planes were rivals in the race for the fastest passenger flight and are rare exhibits to see together in one place.

Around the world, thousands of airplanes, ships, and vehicles reach the end of their service life and are sent to storage or dismantling sites. These locations mark the final destinations of transportation machines: some wait in the Arizona desert where over 4,000 military aircraft are preserved thanks to the dry climate, others are anchored in Suisun Bay in California as strategic reserves, while still others are dismantled at industrial sites in Chittagong, Bangladesh, where workers recover metal from large commercial ships. Some of these sites have taken unusual forms: in Bangkok, former passenger planes have been converted into homes where residents live; in Alliance, Nebraska, 39 gray cars replicate the exact arrangement of Stonehenge. From Roswell to rusted wrecks in Staten Island and abandoned radioactive vehicles near Chernobyl, these locations tell the comprehensive story of machines that have transported generations of travelers and goods.
