Scandic Hamburg Emporio, hotel in Hamburg, Germany
The Scandic Hamburg Emporio is a four-star hotel inside the Emporio Tower in the Hamburg-Mitte district. It has several hundred non-smoking rooms, each fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows, a flat-screen television, and blackout curtains, with private bathrooms stocked with FACE Stockholm products.
The hotel opened in 2012 when the Emporio Tower was completed, as Hamburg was expanding its range of accommodation in the city center. The tower replaced an older structure on that site and brought a modern high-rise to the Neustadt area.
The hotel takes its name from the Emporio Tower, a tall office building in Hamburg's Neustadt district. The Scandinavian design uses light materials and clean lines, which gives the interior a simple, northern feel that stands out among the city's mixed architectural styles.
The hotel sits within walking distance of the Gänsemarkt underground station, which connects easily to much of the city center. Paid parking is available in an on-site garage, and all rooms are accessible for wheelchair users.
The hotel runs an H20 concept that brings the kitchen, lounge, and bar together in one open space, where regional food is cooked in a show kitchen visible to guests. Handcrafted cocktails can be enjoyed both inside and on the adjoining courtyard terrace.
