Fahrradmuseum Barrien, Bicycle museum in Barrien, Syke, Germany

The Fahrradmuseum Barrien displays a collection of 70 bicycles spanning different decades, from vintage high-wheel models to modern racing bikes.

The museum exhibits a high-wheel bicycle from 1876 with solid rubber tires, representing one of the earliest forms of bicycle transportation.

Hans Georg Göbel, an automotive expert, gathered and restored each bicycle in the collection, preserving the evolution of cycling technology.

The museum opens five days per week, with extended hours on Fridays from 9 AM to 5 PM and special arrangements available for Saturday visits.

The collection includes an Optima bicycle built between 1900 and 1910, featuring an extended rear axle designed to assist riders in mounting.
