Postamt Bitterfeld

Postamt Bitterfeld is a red brick building with a curved central gable and ornamental details on its eastern neo-renaissance facade. The complex extends westward with yellow clinker bricks and displays a Prussian eagle relief carved into the east-facing wall.

The post office originally operated in Holzweißig before moving to Bitterfeld in 1822. Its current building opened as the Imperial Post Office on September 29, 1901.

The building combines red brick and yellow clinker tiles, particularly visible on its western side. This material mix reflected postal design preferences of the era and still shapes how the street looks today.

The heritage-protected building is easy to spot from the street thanks to its distinctive red brick and curved central gable. Since its closure as a post office in 2019, law offices have occupied the space while the exterior remains unchanged.

The building transformed into law offices after postal operations ceased in 2019. This change shows how historic structures adapt to new uses while keeping their architectural character intact.
