Kloster Marienthal

Kloster Marienthal is a Franciscan monastery in the Westerwald region set in quiet countryside between green hills and the Elsterbach stream. The complex includes cloister buildings with traditional architecture, a church from the 14th century, and guest houses that provide accommodation for visitors.

The monastery was founded in the Middle Ages and developed into an important religious center of the region. In the 15th century, the Brethren of Common Life established a printing press here, one of the earliest in the German-speaking lands.
