St. Bonifatius, Romanesque church in Zscheiplitz, Germany.
The stone church features a rectangular nave with a flat ceiling, connected to a square tower containing the bell chamber with arched openings.
The structure originated in the 11th century when Ludwig der Springer and Adelheid converted a Saxon castle into a Benedictine monastery in 1098.
The church contains a Gothic limestone relief from 1500 depicting Jesus Christ, reflecting medieval religious artistry of the Saxony-Anhalt region.
Visitors can access the church and observation tower between May and October, from 10 AM to 6 PM, with guided tours available through local contacts.
The building incorporates a nun's gallery with a double arcade underneath, which later served as a family burial chamber for estate owners.
