Cathedral Basilica of St. Dionysius the Areopagite, Minor basilica at Panepistimiou Avenue, Athens, Greece.

The cathedral features a three-aisle basilica design with twelve green marble columns from Tinos, measuring 38 meters in length and 24 meters in width.

German architect Leo von Klenze designed the cathedral, which was inaugurated on August 4, 1865, following construction that began in 1853.

The interior displays frescoes of the four Evangelists, Christ Pantocrator, Moses, and David, along with eight stained glass windows created by Carl de Boucher.

Sunday masses occur at 07:30 and 09:30 in Greek, followed by an 11:00 Latin mass with homilies provided in both Greek and English languages.

Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria donated two marble pulpits near the sanctuary during his visit to Athens in 1869.
