Porto Katsiki

Porto Katsiki is a cove on the southwest coast of Lefkada featuring fine white sand backed by towering limestone cliffs. The clear waters of the Ionian Sea frame this isolated beach, which is reachable only by descending a long staircase.

The name comes from the time when only mountain goats could reach this remote location, and later fishermen began using it. Over time, the cove became a known anchorage point for the small boats and ships of the region.

The cove draws visitors interested in exploring the way local fishing communities have shaped the surrounding area. The setting reflects how islanders have lived with this dramatic coastline for generations.

The beach is reached by descending a long staircase from the clifftop parking area, requiring good physical condition. Those planning to swim or snorkel should bring water shoes, as entry to the water involves navigating rocks.
