Egremni, Mediterranean beach on southwest coast of Lefkada island, Greece.
Egremni is a beach on the southwest coast of Lefkada island with a roughly 500-meter stretch of white sand and pebbles meeting turquoise waters. Tall limestone cliffs towering up to 150 meters create a dramatic backdrop behind the sand.
The beach suffered substantial damage from a 2015 earthquake that destroyed the existing infrastructure. The access stairs were completely rebuilt between 2021 and 2023.
Local fishermen gather here and sell their daily catch at small tavernas near the parking area. The rhythm of life follows the sea and fishing traditions.
Bring water, snacks, and sun protection since the beach has no rentals, shops, or organized services. Planning ahead ensures a comfortable visit.
Access is via 325 metal steps descending through the white cliffs, creating a natural barrier that keeps visitor numbers lower year-round. This demanding approach rewards those who make the effort with solitude and clear waters.
