Archaeological museum of Florina

The museum occupies a two-story building displaying prehistoric, Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine artifacts discovered in the Florina region through multiple excavation projects.

The museum building dates from 1969 and underwent interior renovations in 1999, marking a new chapter in the preservation of regional archaeological heritage.

The exhibition includes Roman grave stelae, sculptures, and inscriptions that reveal details about ancient social structures, religious practices, and political organizations.

The museum operates from 8:00 to 20:00 during summer months with a standard admission fee of 3 euros, while winter hours run from 8:00 to 17:00.

Among the notable exhibits stands a 200,000 to 500,000-year-old mammoth jaw discovered in the village of Sotiras, representing the region's prehistoric fauna.
