Pavlos Melas Museum

The Pavlos Melas Museum occupies a two-story stone structure with a brick upper floor and tiled roof in the mountain village of Melas. The building houses a fixed collection of historical items, military documents, and family records that span the period of armed conflict in the region.

The building was originally owned by the Kantzakis family and marks the site where officer Pavlos Melas died fighting Ottoman forces in 1904. This location represents a crucial moment in the region's struggle against foreign control during that era.

The collection displays household items from the Kantzakis family alongside uniforms and photographs of fighters from the Florina and Kastoria regions. Visitors gain insight into how local people lived during that period and participated in armed conflicts.
