Yannis Tsarouchis Foundation

The Yannis Tsarouchis Foundation is an art museum in a residential building in Marousi that displays the artist's works and theatrical set designs. Exhibition rooms on the first floor and in the attic contain paintings and design materials he created for the stage.

The building was constructed in 1965 and became the residence and studio of painter Yannis Tsarouchis from 1966 onward. The artist lived and worked there until his death in 1989.

The foundation bears the name of painter Yannis Tsarouchis, and his works on display reflect the development of modern Greek painting. The rooms preserve the artist's working methods and creative choices that visitors can experience directly through the exhibitions.

The space is located in a residential building and is easily accessible on foot, with exhibition rooms spread across multiple levels. Be prepared to climb stairs, as the displays are distributed across different floors of the house.

The artist placed a painting titled 'The Window' at an actual window of the house, showing a man gazing outward. Passersby and delivery workers were surprised when they thought a real person was looking down at them from the window.
