Cathedral of Saint James and Saint Christopher

The Cathedral of Saint James and Saint Christopher is a Renaissance building with a simple, single-aisle layout at the heart of Corfu town. Six chapels line the sides, while the central sanctuary features a raised altar space where a large crucifix dominates the view.

This building was consecrated in 1553 and replaced an earlier cathedral that had occupied the old fortress grounds. Over the following decades, the structure endured damage and reconstruction while maintaining its Renaissance character.
