Archaeological Museum of Milos

The Archaeological Museum of Milos occupies a neoclassical building from 1870, featuring collections from the late Neolithic period through the Byzantine era.

The museum building was designed by architect Ernst Ziller and underwent several renovations before its official opening to the public in 1985.

The museum displays ancient Cycladic art, extensive pottery collections, and artifacts from Phylakopi, representing the progression of local civilizations through millennia.

Visitors can explore the museum daily except Tuesdays from 8:30 to 15:30, with reduced winter hours and special admission rates during different seasons.

The entrance features a replica of the Venus de Milo statue, while the collection includes significant obsidian tools that demonstrate ancient trade practices.
