Dassia

Dassia is a beach resort on the northeastern coast of Corfu featuring a gently sloping shore of fine pebbles mixed with sand. Forested hills rise behind the waterline and create a natural shelter while the water stays remarkably clear year-round.

The settlement grew from a small fishing village into one of Corfu's earliest beach tourism destinations during the mid-20th century. This shift marked a turning point when the coastal economy moved from fishing toward welcoming visitors.

The beach is easily reached by bus from the main town and works well for a day visit or longer stay. The gradual slope into the water and scattered rental facilities make it beginner-friendly for swimming and water activities.

The water stays shallow far from shore before dropping unexpectedly deep, allowing swimmers to walk out much farther than at typical beaches. This unusual seabed layout means you can wade in for what seems like an endless distance.
