Saint Mary of Dovra Monastery

Saint Mary of Dovra Monastery is an Orthodox monastery located in Veria Municipality, nestled between two hills covered in dense vegetation. The main structure is a three-aisled basilica topped with a wooden roof and includes an outer entrance hall, plus renovated guest quarters, a restored spring, and courtyards redesigned for religious gatherings.

The monastery became a command center for Macedonian leaders during the Greek War of Independence in 1822, but Ottoman forces destroyed it during the conflict. It was later rebuilt and reestablished as an active monastery in 1995 under the jurisdiction of the Holy Metropolis of Beroia.
