Agios Gordios

Agios Gordios is a settlement on a two-kilometer beach along Corfu's western coast, featuring golden sand and tall cliffs that frame the shoreline. The clear water extends toward the Ionian Sea horizon and offers several swimming areas to explore.

The place was named after Saint Gordios and grew from a small fishing community into a tourism destination during the 20th century. This transformation reflects the wider growth of the Ionian Islands as a travel destination.

A white chapel sits above the beach and serves as the center of local religious life, where visitors can witness celebrations throughout the year. The chapel connects the community to Saint Gordios, whose name defines this place.

The beach has rental sunbeds and umbrellas available, and several tavernas line the shoreline for food and drink. Visitors will find everything needed for a full day by the water and can easily grab refreshments.

Natural rock formations at both ends of the beach create small protected coves where visitors can observe marine life. These areas offer a quieter alternative to the main beach and show the variety of the coastal landscape.
