Agios Gordios, Beach settlement on western coast of Corfu, Greece
The two-kilometer beach features golden sand borders against vertical cliffs, with clear waters extending toward the distant Ionian Sea horizon.
The settlement received its name from Saint Gordios and developed from a small fishing community into a tourism destination during the 1950s.
Local residents maintain Greek Orthodox traditions through celebrations at the white chapel perched above the beach, marking religious occasions throughout the year.
The beach offers rental services for sunbeds and umbrellas, plus several tavernas serving fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes along the shoreline.
The natural rock formations at both ends of the beach create secluded coves where visitors can observe marine life in protected waters.
