Agios Gordios

Agios Gordios is a settlement on a two-kilometer beach along Corfu's western coast, featuring golden sand and tall cliffs that frame the shoreline. The clear water extends toward the Ionian Sea horizon and offers several swimming areas to explore.

The place was named after Saint Gordios and grew from a small fishing community into a tourism destination during the 20th century. This transformation reflects the wider growth of the Ionian Islands as a travel destination.

A white chapel sits above the beach and serves as the center of local religious life, where visitors can witness celebrations throughout the year. The chapel connects the community to Saint Gordios, whose name defines this place.
