Kapsali is a wide sandy beach on the southern coast of Kythira, formed by two natural bays that meet in an omega shape. The shoreline mixes soft sand with small pebbles, while the clear water slopes gently, making it easy for swimmers of all ages to enter.
This stretch of coast developed as the seaside companion to Chora, the island’s main town, which sits on the hill above. The Venetian castle overlooking the bay served for centuries as a refuge and defense for local villagers against seaborne raids.
