Dijon-Prenois

Dijon-Prenois, Motor racing circuit in Prenois, France

This motor racing circuit stretches approximately 2.4 miles (3.8 kilometers) through hilly terrain and features fast sweeping corners, tight turns, and elevation changes that challenge drivers with its technical layout and demanding sequences.

The circuit opened in May 1972 after construction began in December 1969, and it hosted Formula One French Grand Prix races five times between 1974 and 1984, including the memorable 1979 race won by Jean-Pierre Jabouille in a turbocharged Renault.

The 1979 French Grand Prix at this circuit became legendary for the intense wheel-to-wheel battle between Gilles Villeneuve and René Arnoux during the final laps, which remains one of the most celebrated duels in motorsport history and captivated racing fans worldwide.

The circuit is located off the D104N road near Prenois and can be reached from Dijon in approximately 50 minutes by car, with on-site parking facilities, karting track, restaurant services, and accommodation information available through the official website for visitors planning track days or events.

The circuit holds FIA Grade 2 certification and continues to host diverse motorsport competitions including historic racing events, truck racing championships, motorcycle races, and club-level competitions, while also offering driving schools and corporate event packages throughout the racing season.
