The 3rd arrondissement spans 1.2 square kilometers on the right bank of the Seine, encompassing medieval streets and historical mansions from different periods.
Established in 1860 during Paris's reorganization, this district contains the oldest private house in Paris, built in 1407 at 52 rue de Montmorency.
The district houses nine museums, including the Museum of Arts and Crafts, the Picasso Museum, and the Carnavalet Museum dedicated to Parisian history.
The area contains six public high schools, numerous metro stations, and the Marché des Enfants Rouges, which provides fresh produce and prepared foods.
A small Chinese community from Wenzhou settled near rue au Maire, creating a distinct neighborhood near the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts.
