Walibi Rhône-Alpes, Amusement park in Les Avenières, France

Walibi Rhône-Alpes is a theme park of 33 operating hectares in Les Avenières Veyrins-Thuellin, Isère, holding more than 33 rides. Its EqWalizer coaster, renamed in June 2014, is a Vekoma Boomerang shuttle loop: a pink and yellow track arching between dark purple steel columns and a central lattice tower, with a sign in pink letters outlined in yellow and a spiral staircase around one support. A yellow-tracked coaster with green and yellow columns stands over a small dark-green-roofed structure.

Opened on 7 April 1979 as Avenir Land with an American West theme, including cowboy street shows and stagecoaches. Belgian businessman Eddy Meeùs took a stake in 1981, and Walibi bought all shares at the end of 1985. Renamed Walibi Rhône-Alpes in 1989 after about 80 million francs of investment, the park passed to Premier Parks in 1998, then to Star Parks in 2004 and Compagnie des Alpes in 2006.

The park's mascot is a kangaroo, replacing the beaver used before 1989. The name Walibi comes from the Belgian municipalities of Wavre, Limal and Bierges, where the sister park opened in 1975. In 1989 and 1990 the TF1 show Intervilles was recorded at the park, which raised its profile.

Entry fees vary by height, with different rates for guests over 51 inches (130 cm) and children between 39 inches (100 cm) and 47 inches (120 cm). Waiting times for rides can be longer during weekends and holiday periods.

The Mahüka roller coaster was designed specifically for this location and creates 13 moments of weightlessness during its ride. These repeated phases occur through rapid direction changes and rotations along the track.
