The 35-hectare vineyard extends across gentle slopes above Clos de Vougeot, featuring specific soil types that range from clay-rich areas to stonier sections.
The Échezeaux received its Appellation d'origine contrôlée status in 1937, establishing official recognition for its wine production methods and territorial boundaries.
More than 80 different owners maintain their individual parcels within Échezeaux, following strict regulations for Pinot Noir grape cultivation and wine production.
Visitors can explore eleven distinct lieux-dits within the vineyard, including notable sections such as Échézeaux du Dessus, Les Poulaillères, and En Orveaux.
The vineyard maintains a minimum planting density of 9,000 vines per hectare and produces approximately 165,000 bottles of wine annually.
