Fischer Brewery

Fischer Brewery is an industrial complex in Schiltigheim with red brick buildings and large windows characteristic of 19th-century factory design. The site includes multiple production halls and storage areas that reflect the layout of a major manufacturing facility.

The brewery was founded in 1821 in Strasbourg and moved to Schiltigheim in 1854 to access better water for beer production. The facility expanded over the decades to become one of the region's major brewing operations before production ended in 2009.

The brewery was a major center of Alsatian brewing for generations and shaped the craft throughout the region. Today, the site still reflects the connection between industrial production methods and the traditional beer-making practices that defined local identity.

The site is easy to reach and located in an accessible industrial area with clear viewing points for visitors. You can walk around the exterior and observe the architecture from outside, as the buildings are not currently open for tours.

The brewery created the Desperados brand, a beer with tequila flavoring that became known across Europe. This unusual product showed how a traditional brewing operation could experiment with new flavor directions.
